Nevada

Nevada is an arid desert region, however there are still around 3,400 farms in operation and over 6.1 million acres of farmland. Even though the state only produces around 445,000 cattle per year, there are 4.8 million acres of permanent pasture and rangeland, with cropland only making up 794,699 acres.

Unlike many of the states in the country, Nevada's agricultural landscape has actually grown over the last decade and a half, increasing from 3,131 to 3,423 farms since 2007. Purchasing directly from local, responsible, sustainable farms will help to ensure agricultural growth for years to come.
